Simone Caporale is not only a talented barman and head mixologist at the world famous Artesian Bar at the Langham Hotel in London. He is also part of Disaronno’s global team of brand ambassadors in charge of creating new original cocktail recipes as well as reinterpreting classic Disaronno drinks.
One of his signature drinks is Disaronno&C, made with Disaronno, Calpis, lime, liquorice, aromatic bitters and rose bud. Though humble, he does have some good advice for upcoming mixologists: “Take care of your work, bar, guests, as though they belong to you. In this way you can achieve bigger results and ask yourself ‘why?’ on anything you don’t know.”
As for 2013, Simone predicts some new beverage trends that will give a more significant and symbolic value to cocktails, regardless of the country and culture they are served in. “Of course each part of the world has its own drinking culture, but I see a big explosion in drinks which transmit a fun message as well as an unexpected show. These drinks will be more than just a way to relax, they will be delivering a message.”
